Forest Edge Bed and Breakfast - Booking Conditions
Forest Edge is our home. It is not a hotel, accepting any guests who can pay the fees, and we reserve the right to accept and refuse guests according to the principles outlined below.

Making a booking.

In making a reservation for a guest both parties accept the following booking conditions:

  1. We will reserve the room(s) for our guests and confirm the booking in writing or via E-mail if requested. The price is fixed at the time of booking.

  2. Prices are for bed, breakfast and reasonable use of the room between 4pm and 10am the next morning.

  3. Guests can have a room key to secure their room. We hold master keys for all rooms and will enter rooms to service them.

  4. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to provide accommodation to booked guests we will: a) attempt to book them into B&B accommodation within Test Valley; b) inform them of the new arrangements; c) return any deposits paid. We will inform guest as soon as possible. We try to hold contact details, such as telephone numbers or e-mail addresses, for such eventualities.

  5. If a guest fails to honour a booking, and we are unable to resell that accommodation, then we will claim damages.

  6. We expect guests to arrive between 4pm and 10pm on the day they are first booked. We cannot be responsible for not being available for guests who arrive outside these hours or who arrive at times not originally agreed between us.

  7. Guests using our home are expected to treat it with care, and we do not allow guests into our home if worse for alcohol, drugs or otherwise displaying anti-social behaviour or give us reasonable cause for concern for ourselves, our other guests or our property.

  8. We do not allow smoking within Forest Edge. If we refuse entry on these grounds, and cannot resell the accommodation, then we will not give compensation.

  9. Forest Edge is not open to guests with animals as the garden is unsuitable and we wish to minimise allergens.

  10. We will claim compensation for damage that is not ‘reasonable use of our accommodation’. This may include replacement costs and / or failure to sell the accommodation to others due to damage being repaired.

  11. Data protection. We hold details, as supplied by guests or their companies, only on the registration or booking form. We will not make this available to others.

  12. Disabled guests.

    a) We will make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to our normal provision to better meet the requirements of disabled people (DDA, 1995).

    b) Wheel chair users will be allowed reasonable access to Forest Edge, between 4pm and 10am, via our private front door. If possible we will give assistance.

    c) We give individual attention to all guests when being introduced to Forest Edge.

    d) Visitors with walking difficulties will be allowed to park as near as possible to the garden entrance and we will take extra care in giving help with luggage. A luggage rack can be provided in the room if this is helpful.

    e) High intensity lights are provided in the rooms and Garden Room. These may be of benefit to those with visual impairments.

    f) The Salisbury Room has the least obstructions for those using wheel chairs or using walking aids.

    g) Upright chairs and cushions are supplied in all rooms. This may be an advantage to those with difficulty rising from lower sitting positions. The chairs can be located adjacent to tables for additional support.
